How UK Sustainable Brands and Ethical Influencers Are Leading the Slow Fashion Movement in 2025

In a world where over 100 billion new garments are produced every year, a quieter revolution is taking root. One stitched with purpose, powered by community, and built on the belief that business can be beautiful — and conscious.

Last weekend, that revolution came to life on a rooftop in Exeter.
On Sunday, June 29th, The Club Preloved hosted the first-ever sustainable influencer event in Devon. Over 30 ethical content creators, with a combined reach of more than 2 million, gathered alongside small UK-based sustainable brands to connect, collaborate, and reimagine what conscious business and authentic influence can really look like.
And the result? A hugely successful event, a wave of powerful conversations, and a living, breathing reminder that the future of fashion (and content) is circular, collaborative, and community-first.
The Club Preloved: Built for Brands That Want to Create Change

Founded to support and champion small sustainable brands, The Club Preloved is more than a platform, it’s a movement. We connect values-led businesses with ethical influencers, offer business support, and create real-world opportunities to amplify stories that matter.
Whether you're a slow fashion startup, a circular homeware brand, or an upcycled jewellery designer, joining The Club Preloved means becoming part of something bigger — a shared mission to make consumption more conscious and connection more human.
And that’s exactly what unfolded last Sunday.
Influencers like @astridiwantyouinmylife, known for bold style and love of sustainable brands, and @carrysommers, founder of global movement Fashion Revolution, stood shoulder-to-shoulder with small business owners over cocktails, curated rails of vintage clothing, and soul-filled storytelling.
“This isn’t just an event. This is the kind of influence the world actually needs.”— Lauren, Founder of The Club Preloved
Why It Matters: New Global Laws Are Changing the Rules
In 2024, France became the first country in the world to ban advertising for fast fashion and passed a new bill requiring influencers to clearly disclose paid partnerships, especially around overconsumption and environmental claims.

The direction is clear: the future is ethical, transparent, and intentional.
And while these policies are just starting to ripple across Europe, The Club Preloved is already laying the groundwork for what’s next, connecting ethical influencers with sustainable brands ready to lead with purpose, not pressure.
We also offer:
Industry-standard fee benchmarks to protect influencers
Contract templates and collaboration guides for clarity
Event features and gifting opportunities to showcase brands authentically
This support is designed to help small businesses grow sustainably, and to help content creators build real impact, not just reach.
Creator-Led. Brand-Supported. Community-Driven.
At the event, the stories shared were raw and real. Creators spoke openly about the desire to create more responsibly. Brands shared their challenges in standing out against mass-produced competitors.
But what shone through most?
Hope.
Because when you build a room full of aligned values, good things happen.

“A joyous afternoon turning preloved into reloved… making the world better, and feeling better for doing it too.”— @carrysommers, Fashion Revolution
“This was a revolution in the making.”— @thethriftinghoarder
The venue was decorated with dried flower installations from Leaf Street, goodie bags were handpicked from ethical members across the UK, and music from
provided the soundtrack to a new kind of influence.
